At this stage in my life and career, I’m not here to make empty promises. I’m here to serve.
In January of this year, I sat down for a candid conversation on “Mek Wi Talk” podcast hosted by Jeffrey Tavares LLC, where we unpacked what real leadership looks like, the work I’ve done, and most importantly—the work that still needs to be done. We discussed the future of West Rural St. Andrew and the practical, results-driven steps I believe can move our communities forward. And today, I want to share a few of those highlights with you.
Building Smarter, Faster
In our communities, access to proper healthcare and modern education shouldn’t be a luxury. That’s why I’m championing a modular approach to infrastructure. We don’t have to wait years to build brick-and-mortar facilities. With refurbished containers, we can deliver mobile clinics, STEM labs, and community resource hubs faster—and at a fraction of the cost.
This isn’t about cutting corners. It’s about cutting through red tape and getting things done.
Farming the Future
Agriculture is the lifeblood of our rural economy. But too many farmers are struggling to stay afloat. I’m pushing for practical, sustainable investments in agro-processing and composting cooperatives. It’s time we turn our produce into profit and create a value chain that benefits every farmer and every family.
Our Youth, Our Legacy
We cannot afford to leave our young people behind. From tech-driven training to community sports and cultural programming, I’m focused on creating spaces where young minds can grow and thrive. I’ve seen the power of opportunity change lives—and I want to see more of that across this constituency.
Experience Matters
Some might ask why I’m stepping forward again at this stage. My answer is simple: because I still believe in service. Because I still believe that with the right leadership, this constituency can rise.
I’ve been through the trenches of Jamaican politics. I’ve weathered the storms, stood firm in my convictions, and now, I stand ready to serve again—with the courage of my experience and the heart of a woman who still believes in people.
Let’s Do This—Together
Change won’t come from Kingston. It will come from all of us—working together, holding each other accountable, and staying true to the vision we have for West Rural. A vision that’s grounded in action, not fanfare.
Let’s rise. Let’s rebuild. Let’s reimagine what’s possible.
