Turn on the TRIL: Reclaiming the Heart of Politics in West Rural St. Andrew

Politics in Jamaica has long been filled with passion. Our people care deeply about their communities and their country. But for far too long, our politics has also been marked by division, disrespect, and distrust. The loudest voices are not always the kindest, and too often, campaigns become spaces where values are lost in the fight for power.

In West Rural St. Andrew, we are choosing a different path. Our campaign is guided by four core values that reflect not only the kind of leadership I believe in, but also the kind of community we are building. We call it TRIL.

TRIL stands for Tolerance, Respect, Integrity, and Love. These are not just words. They are the foundation of how we choose to lead and serve. They are what we will bring to Parliament, to the streets, to the people, and to every single interaction, whether online or in person.

Tolerance

We may not all think the same, vote the same, or believe the same things. That is the reality of any healthy democracy. But tolerance allows us to listen. It allows us to understand. It gives us the space to work together, even when we disagree.

I will always fight for the rights of those who believe differently than I do. That is what true leadership demands. No one should ever feel left out of the conversation simply because they wear a different colour or carry a different view.

Respect

Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity. Whether you are a senior citizen, a student, a street vendor, or a civil servant, your voice matters. Your concerns matter.

Respect is about more than politeness. It is about how we speak to each other. How we show up. How we listen. In this campaign, and in the leadership I hope to offer, I am committed to ensuring that respect is not the exception. It is the standard.

Integrity

I have spent many years in public service. During that time, I have made decisions that were not always popular, but they were grounded in principle. I believe in accountability. I believe in transparency. I believe in keeping promises, even when it is difficult.

Integrity means standing by what is right, not what is easy. The people of West Rural St. Andrew deserve a representative who will lead with courage and honesty, not convenience. That is the kind of leadership I offer.

Love

Some may say that love has no place in politics. I disagree. Love is not weakness. Love is strength. Love is the driving force behind every fight for fairness, every late-night meeting, every school visit, every road tour, and every attempt to make life better for the people I serve.

I love this constituency. I love its people. I love the possibilities that live here. And it is that love that pushes me to do more, to give more, and to stay grounded in service.

Why TRIL Matters

When we talk about TRIL, we are not just talking about a campaign slogan. We are talking about a cultural shift. We are talking about creating a political space where decency, maturity, and humanity lead the way.

TRIL is how we will work together. TRIL is how we will debate. TRIL is how we will govern.

Because the truth is, how we lead is just as important as what we deliver.

Let Us Lead Differently, Together

If you believe that politics in Jamaica can be better, that it can be a space for growth, healing, and progress, then I invite you to join this movement.

Let us build a constituency where disagreement does not mean disrespect. Where leadership is measured not only by achievements, but also by attitude. Let us turn on the TRIL in West Rural St. Andrew.

The time is now. And I believe we are ready.

Let us choose a new way forward, rooted in values that serve us all. Let us turn on the TRIL.
